Why not just treat with preventative treatment in my dog or cat?

Created by Veterinary Parasitology, Modified on Fri, 2 Jan at 10:06 AM by Veterinary Parasitology

The European Scientific Counsel of Companion Animal Parasites (ESCCAP) recommends regular faecal examinations as part of responsible parasite control.

In general, this includes:

  • Faecal testing up to four times during the first year of life

  • Twice-yearly testing in adult animals

  • Use of targeted treatment protocols, where indicated

These recommendations support animal health, responsible antiparasitic use, and public health protection.
